Basic Soldering Guide Provided by Everyday Practical Electronics magazine, this site covers how to solder, types of soldering iron, desoldering, and troubleshooting, with a photo gallery of good and poor soldering. Electronics ToolBox A site for electronics hobbyists and professionals. As they put it, "eg3.com is a community portal that indexes all the net resources, free software, papers, books, hardware, software, and services of value to the embedded, dsp, and realtime community... if you want to use the net effectively for electronic design. eg3.com is your resource." Circuit Cellar An online magazine for electronics hobbyists, particularly those interested in homebuilt computers or projects using embedded controllers. MicroChip Technologies Microchip is a manufacturer of "PIC" embedded controller chips, microprocessors used by hobbyists to control homebuilt devices. Their website includes a developer's area, with much information on using PIC chips, and links to other electronic hobbyist's resources. RC Modeler The new website of RC Modeler magazine, primarily concerned with building and flying radio controlled aircraft models. Rocketry Online Photo Links A categorical directory of over 6,500 photography websites, with daily updates. (Digital) Imaging Resource Articles, tips, and FAQs to help you select and use a digital camera or scanner. Desktop Video Handbook The Desktop Video Handbook Online, from The Electronic Mailbox, an online electronics shop with lots of good videography information. Country Life At Country Life, you can learn about simple, self-sufficient living. From baking bread to growing herbs, and from generating your own electricity to raising livestock, all free. Virtual Birder Online bird watcher's magazine. Birdwatching.com Online bird watcher's magazine. Women.com "The smart way to get things done". Chickclick.com A comprehensive site covering most things many women want to know more about, with a lighter approach than Women.com. Sew Tech Classes Sew Tech offers a number of free online sewing tutorials, and more. Betty Crocker Recipies from the most famous name in the recipie business. These are "kitchen-tested" recipies drawn from over 200 Betty Crocker cookbooks. AllRecipies.com It's hard to believe the name, but they do have a lot of recipies. This is a database of user-submitted recipies, so the quality might not be as consistent as Betty Crocker, although the variety is tremedous. Vegsource.com "Health without the hype", they proclaim. 10,000 vegetarian recipies, discussion forums led by doctors, articles, an "ask our experts" section, and more. Vegetarian Restaurants Guide A guide to veggie restaurants around the world, "with almost 1000 fully vegetarian restaurants and 750 mini-reviews listed". Crafts Search: The DMOZ Open Directory searches for keywords in website titles and descriptions (not page content). You can limit your search to subcategories, or search all Recreation or Arts links. |
